Multicultural Community Services of the Pioneer Valley, Inc.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the staff and the Board of Directors of Multicultural Community Services of the Pioneer Valley, Inc. (MCS). MCS is a private non-profit organization funded primarily by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and MassHealth/Medicaid. MCS was established over 30 years ago and currently supports over 1350 individuals throughout western Massachusetts. We provide supports in 3 major areas:
Residential Services: MCS began by creating community-based homes for individuals with disabilities in 1979. We have continued to develop home environments which reflect each person’s preferences and need for supports. Each person receives warmth, sensitivity and respect from a dedicated team of support staff. Our Supports are arrayed to promote the notion that “Each person has the right to shape his/her own home.” Our efforts center on support services that promote community inclusion as well as self-reliance.
Family Supports: By 1980 MCS began developing family supports to be responsive to all of the communities it served. As we grew we increased our ability to respond to the expanding range of needs of increasingly diverse families using the following principles:
Families are the Experts – This challenges us to really listen! What are your family needs? What will help you?
Flexibility – We provide an array of well-coordinated supports which promote family control, independence, and inclusion.
Simplicity – Life is already complicated. Our services and supports strive to be family friendly.
Home Health Care / Bridging Care for Families (BCF): The goal of Bridging Care for Families is to uniquely support families who are striving to care for an individual with significant medical needs. We believe that family centered nursing supports are critical in complementing families’ capacities to provide care at home. In addition, our goal for skilled services is to provide the highest quality nursing and therapy services to our clients to ensure they reach their optimal level of health and well being. In order to meet these needs we provide the following services: Intermittent Skilled Nursing Visits; Private Duty Nursing; Physical Therapy; Occupational Therapy; Speech-Language Pathology; 24 Hour Nursing Supervision; and 24 Hour On Call Service. These services are certified under Medicaid and Medicare.
We hope you find this website helpful. We trust that your experience working with MCS will be positive and I urge you to call me directly if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Paul Conlon
Executive Director
