All staff trainings provided by MCS are listed below. To register for a training please click on “Register” located beneath the class you would like to attend. All trainings are held in the MCS Springfield office in the large conference room unless otherwise specified. The number of seats per training are limited so register early!

Some Notes about Online Trainings
You are required to open and review the training material provided in each of the trainings. You will be signing off that you have read/watched the material provided so please do so.
Please do not proceed with any of the online trainings unless you know for sure it is time for you to take it. You will not be paid for any training if it is not time for you to take it. If you have any questions regarding any of the MCS trainings, including if it is time for you to take it, you may contact Roz Mestre-Resto, MCS Training Coordinator at (413) 782-2500.
Upon successfully completing a training please contact your supervisor to determine if you will be paid for your time. If you are paid it is your responsibility to make sure it is listed on your time sheet.
BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS Instructor: N/A – Online Training
This training contains a PDF reading packet and a post test. Please be sure to view the reading material before taking the test. Bloodborne Pathogens is a required training that must be renewed annually.

CPR & FIRST AID
****PLEASE NOTE***** The American Red Cross certification requirements have changed. CPR/First Aid/AED class will now be six hours long. Night classes will now be broken in two, three hour session. You MUST attend both sessions in order to obtain the two year certification. Weekday and Saturday classes will be conducted in six hours with a break for lunch.

DRIVER SAFETY Instructor: N/A – Online Training
This training contains a PowerPoint presentation and a post test. Please be sure to view the presentation before taking the test. If you are unable to open the PowerPoint program on your computer we have also included a PDF file of the presentation for you to view. Driver Safety is a required training for all MCS employees that transport or intend to transport any of our individuals. This training must be renewed every other year.

HUMAN RIGHTS TRAINING Instructor: Amy Sullivan
Human Rights & DPPC training is a five hour training offered to all MCS staff. It is a basic human rights training as well as a Disabled Persons Protection Commission training. This is a mandatory training for all new MCS staff.

MANDATED REPORTING (FORMERLY DPPC REFRESHER)
Instructor: N/A – Online Training
Mandated Reporting is training that will enhance your knowledge on how to effectively report abuse. This is a mandatory training for all MCS staff once a year. Employees must have attended Human Rights/Mandated Reporting (formally DPPC) with in the last three years and not be a new employee. Mandated Reporting is a required training that must be renewed annually. You do not take the Mandated Reporting the year that you take your Human Rights Training as the Mandated Reporting information is included in it.

SAFETY CARE SPECIALIST Instructor: Clinical Team Staff
It is mandatory that all staff working in a MCS residential program be Safety Care Certified. The initial certification class is a 2 day class, the re-certification class is a 1 day class. Once you have completed the initial 2 day Safety Care certification training you must complete an annual 1 day re-certification training prior to the expiration date on your Safety Care Certificate to maintain certified status. If certification expires, staff are required to complete the 2 day training again.
Staff must fill out a Safety Care Registration form available on the MCS Main Office training board or this website (see below). Filled out Safety Care Registration forms are to be placed in the file folder located on the training board.
