Family Support

Empowering families through guidance, resources, and culturally responsive care.

For over 40 years, Multicultural Community Services (MCS) has been a leader in Family Support, serving more than 3,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism across western Massachusetts.

MCS believes that individuals with disabilities thrive when supported at home with their families. We see families as experts in their loved one’s care — and we work alongside them to build meaningful lives filled with happiness, opportunity, and inclusion.

As our name reflects, we proudly serve families from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds, ensuring that every family feels seen, respected, and supported.

Our Family Support Program Offers

Service Navigation

Our Service Navigators help individuals and families access supports, understand DDS programs, and connect with community resources that enhance quality of life.

Respite Supports

Every family needs a break. MCS offers respite options tailored to each family’s situation — from short-term care to flexible scheduling — giving caregivers peace of mind and time to recharge.

Flexible Funding

Provides financial assistance related to a person’s disability needs — supporting adaptive equipment, personal care, or other resources that help maintain stability at home.

Our Family Support Centers

We are proud to host four Family Support Centers — each fully accessible and deeply connected to the communities we serve.
These centers are your first point of contact for guidance, advocacy, and navigation of supports available through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
