LEAD Direct Support Professional (Deaf/Hard of Hearing/DeafBlind Program)

Location:

Feeding Hills (Agawam), MA

Hours:

Full-Time (40 hrs/wk); varying shift hours dependent on the needs of the program

Summary:

Responsiblitlies:

● Assists with training, coaching, and support of the Deaf/HH/DB program staff

● Provides input for the development of Individual Support Plans (ISPs)

● Advocate/ambassador for other Direct Support Professionals in the Deaf/HH/DB program

● Leads weekly staff huddles to ensure program consistency and open communication

● Assists in providing American Sign Language (ASL) instruction (informal or formal) to MCS staff

● Taking residents out into the community for recreation and/or social events, medical appointments, shopping;

● Coaching residents in the area of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) (i.e. cooking, cleaning, proper hygiene);

● Ensuring the safety and well-being of each resident;

● Completing documentation on a consistent and timely basis

Required Qualifications/Skills/Training:

● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation ● High school diploma, or equivalent; Associate degree in Human Services or related field, highly preferred ● Minimum of 4 years working with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and/or DeafBlind individuals, preferably in a residential or educational setting ● Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) ● Proficiency in written English and competent in computer applications ● Knowledge and awareness of Deaf culture, cultural diversity, and knowledge of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind service delivery system ● Ability to work both collaboratively and independently **Specific trainings will be provided as required **Concluding successful tenure and expansion of the program, advancement options will be highly considered If interested please submit Application & Resume to HR by Friday, November 29, 2024
