Adult Planned Respite

Located at MCS in Westfield, this model provides planned respite for families. This support is for Department of Developmental Services (DDS) eligible adults 22 years of age or older. It is closed referral only; consumers must be approved by their DDS Service Coordinator. Individuals with behavioral and medical challenges can be accommodated. Skills assessment can also be provided.
Family Respite Network

MCS staff-run program for individuals 18 years and older whose families need weekend respite. The program is designed for individuals with minimal needs who have limited or no behavioral or medical challenges. Consumers engage in a variety of person centered activities. Funds come from existing allocations or families can private pay ($200 per weekend). Respite is typically scheduled Friday evening through Sunday evening.

Sarah’s Respite

Provides respite in a tranquil homelike setting. Services include overnight stays, weekends, extended weekends, holidays/vacations, daytime respite and emergency respite. Home is located in the Forrest Park area of Springfield. Call for cost and scheduling information. MCS Family Support funds can be used to fund this respite.
West Street Inn

A community based respite house for developmental disabled children ages 3-22 who are medically or behaviorally challenged. It’s designed to be parent friendly while providing enjoyable social and recreational opportunities to children. Typically open weekends, school vacations, and scheduled summer periods. The Inn operates as closed referral only via DDS Service Coordinator.
